A guided walk round the area where Henry Williamson was born and grew up, which will include:

 

  • Eastern Road (Hillside Road in A Chronicle of Ancient Sunlight)

 

  • Hilly Fields (The Hill)

 

  • Comerford House, where HW was born (Comfort House)

 

  • Braxfield Road

 

  • Ladywell Cemetery

 

  • Other local landmarks featured in the Chronicle

 

 

Meet at Ladywell Railway Station at 1.00 p.m.

 

The walk will take about two hours, and end with refreshments at the home of a very generous HWS member who lives in Hilly Fields Crescent.
